A little about Julio;

Julio Mejia has been a Santa Fe South Rower since the first semester of freshman year. He was first brought into rowing by his brother, Cesar Mejia and he has been a rower ever since. He stated that he is motivated by his coach, Bradly Cusack, and his brother. Julio says that he enjoys rowing because of the exercise and all of the fun times that are had with the team/coaches. His goal to achieve in rowing is to obtain the jacket that is awarded to only those who have been in Rowing for 4 years and after he graduates, he wants to become an electrician. Mejia states that the most important thing to him in life is to enjoy what he’s got.

A little about Daniela;

Daniela Lazcano is one of the newcomers to the Santa Fe South Rowing Team, just starting in the third trimester of her junior year. She decided to join rowing after Julio Mejia convinced her into doing it. Daniela stated that Janey Nino is one of the people who really motivate her to always keep trying and to never give up. She hasn’t been out on the river yet, but she still says that her favorite thing about rowing is the indoor erging (rowing simulator). Lazcano expects rowing to bring her new friends and strengthen friendships and her goal is to achieve a gold medal with her team at a Regatta. Daniela says that after she graduates, she would like to become a dermatologist. Lazcano states that the most important things in her life are her family and friends.
