This softball season will be a little different because the team lost three main players last year and the team has a new coach, Courtni Clark. Coach Clark has been playing most of her life and she went to college to go play. She hopes to improve the team by practicing with the girls every day after school. Coach Clark also hopes to improve the girls as individuals to become young ladies.

The softball team has been practicing summer mornings to get a feel for the game. They have been working on every little thing to get better as a team. The girls are learning a new way to throw, field, and hit. Coach Clark repeats the steps with the girls more than four times so that it sticks with them. Although, most of the girls on the team are new to the game of softball, Coach Clark gives a positive vibe on and off the field. At every practice, they are required to cheer on their teammates and congratulate them when they do something right.

The team hopes that they will do as good as they did last year.  This season, the softball team has set a few goals for them to achieve. Their main goal is to go on a two-peat and win the Queens Of The South Tournament. They want to beat all the inner city schools and keep up with the outer city schools. Their last goal is to never give up even when they are down by 20 points. The softball team has a tough season ahead of them, but with the right mind set they will go far. Good luck to the SFS Softball team!
