Who isn’t a big fan of sports? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not have any sports in school? Think about it for a second. How do you think that would affect the kids inside the school on a positive and negative level? If school sports were dropped, several people would drop out of school and start working. A few of the students in school got into big University and College through sports. Having sports in school helps students prepare them for the future, such as managing time because kids have to learn when to study and when to get fit. If school sports were dropped, parents would have less time hanging around school. There won’t be any game night or game days, and no CHEERLEADER! Now think about it, how would that make the students feel?
“I think sports are extremely important in developing young children’s work ethic, character and team building skills. I think sports are important because they keep kids healthy and fit. They also motivate them to do well in school because if their grades start to slip, they won’t be able to participate in extracurricular such as tryout for sports teams. I think sports in school really affect a student in a good way. Besides, high school would be SOOOO boring! No pep rally’s to attend or games! It wouldn’t be the same without it!” said high school senior Deyani Esparza.
The only people, who enjoy playing school sports, are obviously, students who enjoy sports. If we can have art and music, shouldn’t we have sports? Art can give you a career as well as music. All those subjects in school can also give you a career. If they can all give you something, then sports can give you something too. Sports are meant to entertain people. You aren’t just good at it; you practice and give it your all to do your best. If schools were to not have any sports, then students would join clubs or other activity to replace sport of their choice. People would say that they would concentrate more if school didn’t have any more sports, but come on, there are clubs out there. Students will do whatever it takes to do what they enjoy.
On the other hand, if school sports were dropped, students would have more time to do their school work and less time thinking about after school practice. It won’t affect students’ grades anymore and this could actually let students be with their family more often. Most students may only go to college to play sports, and will only concentrate on that. If sports were dropped, they would probably concentrate on school work, what they want to do, and see what else they are good at. There are good things and there are bad things. Some people wouldn’t mind if school sports were dropped, but some would.
Dropping sports would be a bad thing, but they will still find a way to play a sport. It would be a chaos. It wouldn’t be bad or good. Schools won’t have any more gyms, or playgrounds. Some students will be too lazy to work out on their own, and it will unbalance their life. What’s your opinion? Should a school give up on something a student enjoys?
